ACCESSORY IS THE MAKE-UP OF THE HOME

Since 2013, Loda Mobilya has carved out a unique place in the industry with its furniture produced by combining advanced technology and human labor, and it is now recognized as one of Turkey’s quality furniture manufacturers.

We met with Loda Mobilya's Chairman of the Board, Davut Karaçak, to discuss the 2016 furniture trends, his thoughts on the industry, and the company's projects for this year…

Can you provide information about Loda Mobilya's concept?

As Loda Mobilya, we are a brand that understands the expectations of our consumers very well. Users do not only have a limited expectation of functionality from a piece of furniture. They also see furniture as a tool to reflect their lifestyle and worldview. We design products that make consumers feel happy.

We prioritize Loda having a "language" that consumers from all walks of life would want to use to express themselves. This makes us not only a quality and accessible brand in terms of our goals but also a pioneer of a style. The most significant aspect of our concept, which stands out among the leading brands in its sector with its minimalist and modern lines, is its originality. Therefore, we create the "Loda design concept" in all our stores and present this concept to our users.

Can you talk about your branches and the new ones you plan to open?

As Loda Mobilya, we opened our first store in 2013 in Istanbul Modoko. We have showrooms in Istanbul, including Modoko, Masko, and Bostancı. We also opened our Bursa store last March. Additionally, we have a showroom in Azerbaijan.

Due to the increase in demand, we plan to increase the number of our stores. We are fully open to investors in terms of franchising. We adopt a standard for franchising. We maintain the Loda standards we have set regarding location, size, and decoration of the store. We are working on a chain of stores expanding across Turkey, outside Istanbul. After determining the most suitable location for effective sales, we aim for a minimum area of 800 m², an optimum of 1,200 m², and a maximum of 2,000 m². An average operating capital of 400,000 to 600,000 TL is required. Loda dealers can usually recover their investments in a short period of about a year.

Can you talk about the products you use in your furniture?

Loda's product groups include dining rooms, bedrooms, armchairs, sofas, TV units, lighting, and complementary models in home decoration. In our collections, we generally use vintage retro fabrics and leather-weighted upholstery products. You can often see solid wood and walnut in our furniture. With the natural finishes and colors we use, we create a rustic effect in living spaces.

What do you pay more attention to in your designs?

At Loda, we emphasize creating user-focused rational living spaces. Each of our collections, produced by following global design trends, is an example of the "concept furniture" understanding. We reflect the excitement created by the combination of new materials, new lines, and new perspectives in our designs. We believe there is no other way to produce furniture that you will be happy to have as part of your home.

What will be the trends for this year?

Particularly in furniture and decoration, the emerging and changing color palettes, patterns, and various forms of designs cater to individuals' needs. This year, wood, mirrors, and upholstery will take center stage. Warm and vibrant colors such as yellow, green, and orange will be prominent.

For living rooms and dining rooms:

You can create a dynamic look in your living space by using sofas that feature vibrant colors or patterned upholstery. Pay particular attention to using warm tones such as yellow, green, blue, and red.

If you have a space that combines the dining and living room and you do not plan to change your sofas, you can also bring summer into your home with differently shaped chairs around your table. Wooden-textured dining tables are an excellent decoration suggestion for the summer months. Wooden tables can be used together with chairs made of different materials and benches that are the favorites of the season.

To add depth to living areas and create an airy look, light-colored paint can be applied to the walls. By painting one section a light color and the other in pastel tones, you can create a balanced contrast in small spaces. Additionally, it is beneficial to position the furniture parallel to the walls. This way, you can bring the freshness and brightness of spring into your living space.

Don't forget that furniture made of a mix of industrial wood can be chosen for loft home decoration; these pieces will add a pleasant ambiance to your space.

Lighting is one of the most important elements of the environment. The lighting choices will vary according to the characteristics of the apartments. If you live in a loft, modern, rustic, country, or retro-decorated home, metal can be prominent in your lighting choices. The coldness of metal is softened by light, creating a warm atmosphere in the interior. Bookshelves designed in geometric forms and open styles will instantly change the atmosphere of your home. Wooden bookshelves leaning against concrete walls will add movement to the environment.

In summer decoration, it would not be incorrect to speak of the dominance of eclectic lines. In other words, instead of products on the same line, you can create harmony in the same space with products of different designs and colors. When it comes to bookshelves, you can choose products that play with color and design.

If you want to make a very small change, you can start with stools. Decorative stools are like the wild card of living spaces... Decorative stools can be used for sitting or as a coffee table. You can start your spring decoration by obtaining wooden stools with needle legs in different colors. If you plan to use the stool as a coffee table, don't forget to place fresh spring plants on it.

You can create harmony in your home with accessory details...

The must-haves for summer decoration are mirrors, paintings, and decorative accessories... Mirrors are a necessary decoration product as they add depth to the space. Therefore, you should definitely include mirrors in your living spaces. When choosing a mirror, I recommend that you don't compromise on design. Instead of classic mirrors, mirrors designed with characteristic forms made of wood and metal can guide your preference.

The colors used in paintings should also be in harmony with the wall colors. Accessories are the makeup of a home. You can make small touches with accessories without disrupting the naturalness of your home. Dried branches placed in bottle-shaped vases create a wonderful look. It's worth trying. Lastly, don't forget the candles...
